On April 2, 2014, I surfed the web via my mobile phone for a pay day loan to tide me over while I waited on receiving my 6 week deposit upon moving house. I was told I had been approved for a loan and to upon giving my bank details, I would receive a loan. Merrywood posed as another company altogether. Upon further investigation on my own via my mobile phone, once presented with the ‘approved loan scenario, I clicked on the T&C's and they are written in a way to be very vague and don’t link back to Merrywood's site. Merrywood took my bank details and charged me £69.95 as a brokerage fee to help me find pay day loans. This was deceptive and put me at economical risk.

Timeline of Events:
- April 2, bank details were taken and the fee taken out of my account without my permission. (my permission was given to deposit funds into my account)
I called into Merrywood Loans on April 4th, 2014 and asked for a full refund in which I was told it could take up to 10 days.
- 11 days later, I called in again asking for my refund and was told it was going to be with me shortly and to continue to check my bank account.
- After reviewing my bank account for a few days, I called in again and was told per their T&C's, they have 30 days to provide a refund
- April 22nd I wrote in a formal complaint letter asking for a refund and to cancel all activity including texts, emails etc. and sent it to them via post and had it tracked. This letter was never acknowledged as received until I called in to verify they received it.
- Day 31, I called in and was told my refund was with the manager and I would have it at the end of the week. (Marrywood has now completely disregarded their own 30 day policy and is violation of their own T&C’s)
- May 6, Merrywood took a monthly fee. I called in and was told I never cancelled the account. This is false, per my numerous phone calls and written letter.
- May 8th, I called my bank asking for a stop payment and reported it as fraud. They called Merrywood with me and I was told by Merrywood I would get a refund of the monthly payment.
- Once a week for the past month, I have called in asking where my refund is and every week I'm given a new excuse as to why it hasn't been retuned. I was told to finally ask for a manager call back if I hadn't received the refund by end of week June 2nd.
June 9th - I called in to schedule a manager call back and was told they couldn't guarantee a call back but would try.
