I joined Youfit to get into shape for my wedding. I knew I would be moving just a few months after signing up which is why I chose youfit in the first place.

I was considering signing up for personal training, but was not going to sign up when I was told that the standard agreement was for 12 months. The manager was brought in to speak to me about my circumstances and he assured me that I would be able to cancel personal training at any point since I was going to be moving.

The ONLY reason I signed up is because of this assurance by the MANAGER! He brought up the contract, left the total amount of sessions blank and the initial enrollment period blank ensuring me that by doing this, it would allow me to cancel at any point even though he put down 11 payments.

I went in to cancel my membership when I moved. I asked when I was canceling if this cancelled all my services including personal training, and apparently was once again lied to by one of the employees who told me that yes everything was cancelled and no more withdrawals would be made from my account. Two months later, I discover I am still being charged $100 per month for a service I was told I had cancelled.

I called to have this corrected as I was told I had successfully cancelled everything. I first spoke with the assistant manager who said that my personal training had not been cancelled after all. I asked to have the corrected and the money refunded to me as I had been told it was cancelled. He then said that my contract stated I was signed up for 11 payments and that I could not cancel unless I wanted to pay $175. I informed him that the manager had assured me he had set up the contract so that I could cancel at any time.
He then put me on the phone with the new manager who told me the same thing. That the contract stated 11 periods of payment and I would be out the $200 as well as the $175 I would have to spend to cancel. That there is nothing they could do as the manager who had lied to me to get me to sign a contract had left.

This is a terrible business practice. Having no accountability for your company is inexcusable. You are responsible for the actions of your employees. In the name of good customer service, youfit should be willing to refund me the $200 I NEVER should have been charged if I had not been lied to about all of my my services being cancelled. Also, the $175 fee should be waived and I should be allowed to cancel at no charge.
