My Avast kept giving me notices that I needed to renew. The problem is that I renewed in January. I called 866-951-7679, which is the number for Avast Technical support on their website and they told me I had malware that was keeping Avast from updating (which Avast should have caught by the way) and they wanted $119 to fix it and $179 a year to keep it functioning properly and that it would continue to do this until they found the infecting program and removed my IP address from the program. I also had done a full scan on my computer a few days ago and Avast said it was clean. What scam is this from a supposedly reputable company? I should pay them to make their program work? I'm done. I am asking for my money back.
