Five months ago I rented a car through Dollar Rental Car and they offered a one month free trial of Shopper Advantage, a membership for buying products and services at discount rates. Before reaching the end of the trial I made sure to cancel the membership and was given with a confirmation number. Today I realized that I had been charged $16.99 monthly for an accrued total of $67.96.
I called the company to see what had happened and they said that for what they know my account was still active, I gave the rep the cancellation number I had and she said that that was only good for one of their services. I explained to her that I expressly demanded to be removed from their whole database and she insisted that that only got me removed from one service although they continued to charge as if I was enrolled to all of their services - How smart of them!
After arguing for a while she eventually agreed to only refund some of the money they have charged so far despite I had cancelled long ago!
Shoppers Advantage aka "tlg*shoppers" on credit card statements is a fraudulent company. They are not accredited by the BBB and in fact, they have hundreds of complaints for scamming that can be easily found online by just entering the company name -Report the fraud to your credit card company right away!
