I lent her $50 to buy something she claimed she needed, gas. We verbally agreed that she would pay me back within 2 weeks. I went and paid for her gas; she said her dad needed her to buy gas. She was a friend at the time and I trusted her. When I would communicate with her through electronic means (texts, etc) that she promised to pay me back, she would claim she needs some extra time. After giving her more time, she claims she doesn't have money even though she has a job. She even has the arrogance to ask to borrow more money after she knows she has debt (it was for something embarrassing I'd rather not put here). Then she later denies agreeing to pay me back and says I gifted her the money.. With talking with mutual friends, we've discussed that she has a habit of asking to borrow money from friends and never paying them back. She uses stories like "this is an emergency." I just hope she does not do this to other people because she is very good at befriending and gaining trust and pulling these sort of stunts.
