Complaint 312012 Details

I received a call from this company claiming they were Microsoft and that I had some viruses on my computer. They said they needed to get into my computer so they could fix the problem. Stupidly, I believed them and let them do this. From there they told me that I had too many viruses and needed to buy a software program to fix my computer. Then the screen went black and said it needed a password to get in ( which they had) and refused to unlock the computer unless I gave them my credit card number to buy the $50 program. I argued with them as I was livid and now have been locked out of my own computer that I cannot use anymore. I told them I was calling the police and hung up on them. They called me back harassing me 4 more times in two day, once at 4:30 in the morning. My computer is now unusable as they could not fix it and unlock it and I am $1200 ( cost of my laptop and service charge) down with no computer.
