I applied for a CD advertised on Bankrate.com by calling GE Capital Bank 855 730 7283.
After submitting my personal information to the agent, I was told that she would have to refer it to their back office for review. I called back again and they would not open a CD account for me. I suspect they are advertising High interest rates to fish for personal information with no intention of opening accounts. They need to be stopped from online advertising.
