I called a toll free number to download and install VIPRE. My call was routed to GuruAid third party company, which I didn't know it wasn't connected to VIPRE. I allowed them to take remote control of my computer as they insisted they needed to do that in order to see if VIPRE would be compatible with my computer. After giving them remote access, GuruAid found that a lot of miscellaneous junk had entered my computer which would need to be cleaned up before VIPRE could be installed. For a nominal fee of $169.99 (yearly subscription) they said they could do that and afterwards my computer would run like it was new and would allow VIPRE a clean install. With hesitation and doubt, I went against my better judgment and bought this 'WIPE' program. They said they did the 'WIPE' and cleaned up my computer which afterwards did not run any faster. I immediately told them my concerns regarding whether this 'WIPE' worked because of seeing no difference. They assured me that it was fine and pressed me to add this program to all of my other computers. I objected adamantly. The phone number I called was 1-855-250-5835. The first person I spoke to was Sagar Bhuimber. He was the salesman. The remote access technician I chatted online with was Amir Basha Shaikh. I also spoke on the telephone with 'Rocky'. I was on the telephone and computer with them from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. After everything was finished, Amir Basha Shaikh asked if everything I needed was satisfactory. My answer was - Time will tell. But I noticed in the chat box my name popped up with the answer 'YES' which I did not type in. Apparently they had enough control to answer for me. After I got off the telephone and computer with them, I looked up their company (GuruAid) online. I found this complaint site and other sites that stated this company is a scam. I feel deceived and would like others to know this company is NOT legitimate. I have taken steps to help others avoid what I have gone through. Thank you for your time and for allowing people to voice their complaints.
