I received an email on January 29, 2014 from these people informing me about several scams being done to computer owners. January 28, 2014 I was contacted by some foreigner telling me he was from Microsoft calling to tell me that their server was giving them error codes that my computer was going very slow and had been invaded by a hacker or some type of Trojan virus. If I didnt allow him to correct it right then, my computer was going to crash any moment. I had been working on my computer just moments earlier and suddenly flashed this big WARNING telling me I had a virus about to attack my computer, click on "Clean Computer NOW" to avoid it crashing. I ignored it, kept clicking trying to logout, stop it, erase it, nothing worked. I finally clicked "OK" suddenly it started to run some type program, then all of a sudden stopped, froze for about (5) five minutes. I became even more weary of this so I pushed the shutdown/shutoff button to stop it. I also unplugged it for a few moments. When I did turn it back on, that same box popped back up asking me to agree to clean it now. About that time I received a call from an unavailable number from this foreigner telling me he needed to help me get rid of this Trojan and I needed to allow him to have access to my computer. Against my better judgment, I did as he directed me how to allow him access inside my CRT. He began to show me this long page containing 1560 viruses that had supposedly infiltrated the CRT. I told him I had a Malwarebytes Anti-Virus installed already, this is suppoed to stop this type stuff from happening. He then showed me something online telling me the Malware I had was not strong enough to remove viruses as I had. He even went through this procedure showing me how the Malware had tried to remove them but they came back. It all looked legit. He went on to tell me how he could clean all this up without any cost to me, 5yr. professional help free, free anti-virus equipment, free, free, free, etc. All I had to pay for was the license key which cost $169.95. That's when I stopped him, asked for his supervisor of which he could not provide, then adamantly asked for his name, company name, phone number, operator number, city/state, address. While I was speaking, he abruptly hung up the phone.I became even more suspicious of this so-called free anti-virus download so I decided to do some research and came across this website. I wasnt able to find anything with the BBB in Scottsdale, AZ about these people. The email I received also informed me to contact the local police department if I had been contacted by the scam issue, but I still needed to download their anti-virus software Activeris in order to protect me from his happening. Now I see Activeris is as much as a scam these other people whoever they are. I will still be contacting the local authorities of such practices.
