My credit card company had denied a transaction when I was visiting Paris. Without a portable phone I used the nearest telephone box and tried their "International Collect" number. the number was refused several times. So I called the operator who confirmed that the international collect number did not work. I asked if I could call the 800 US number and was told I could not. The operator asked me for a credit card--which supposedly didn't work at the time and was for the agency I was calling. The phone call lasted three minutes supposedly on and international collect line that was now working. I was told my card had been deactivated. It was now reactivated. I hung up. three days later I have not one, but three separate charges from BBG on three different days totaling 105$US. I view this as much the credit card's fault as BBG's. But this is without a doubt a scam!
