Over a period of several years (approx 2008-2010), I spent about $35,000 with the Dalbey Educational Institute to learn the note brokering business, all to no avail.
I began by purchasing the "Winning in the Cashflow Business" package which consisted of three manuals entitled #1 Find 'em, #2 List 'em, and #3 Make Money. These manuals made the business of brokering notes sound very easy, when in fact, it is anything but easy. I was contacted by Dalbey's staff periodically to purchase additional programs or to buy a seat at a seminar, which were purported to teach me everything necessary to succeed. The courses and seminars were well run, informative, and enjoyable, but quite costly. I employed the techniques learned at these events, but was not able to effect a single note transaction or receive a single penny in commission. Yet I was always being contacted to buy more courses and seminars with the promise that they would be the answer to my woes. I finally stopped buying anything from them, realizing the sad truth that I had been sold a bill of goods. Now I see that there is a class action suit against DEI for false advertising. I think that the suit is well justified and hope it is successful.
