I would never, ever recommend this company, even to my enemies.
North American Master Lines is a fraudulent company that is scamming off the name of North American Van Lines. They have lied at every step of the process, overcharged, underestimated, and misrepresented themselves in every way. They are not moving professionals, they are professional moving scammers.
Do not be misled by anything they say unless you see it in writing, they will lie all day and then tell you, “well you signed the contract”, and it states just the opposite of what they told you. Their verbal word is worthless. They will tell you lie after lie and then stand by the contract you signed, which in no way reflects what they told you.
They have rented trucks (lied that our goods would go into one of their own trucks and not be moved until it was delivered) our goods were move from rental truck to warehouse to contracted truck, instead of one move there was 3.
They have non-professional movers packing your goods (hired our crew from the labor hall for minimum wage, only professional was the guy keeping inventory and lying about what was damaged and packed by owner before the move, and collecting the Cash so you have no recourse). They purposely provide you a low cost estimate and guarantee the rate per pound, so when you go over their low estimate they charge you a higher rate on the overage. They have extraordinarily high storage fees.
Here is a good one they get away with.
They make you pay deposit.
Say you can cancel truck up to 7 days before your move and still get refund.
Showed up at our house at 5pm to move an 18000lbs house
We called to complain that we were not going to be packing and moving our house all night.
And the office was closed….
So if we sent them away we would lose our 1700 deposit and there was no one in office to take our call
So we loaded and finished at 0600 am the next day
Then when we called to complain about the higher cost per pound for the weight over their extremely low estimate they said they would take off $350 off our bill, so they sent us a form to sign saying we waived all rights to any claim on our move before they would pay (of course we did not, but maybe should have because now they will not even process our claim).
Did I mention that they left approx. 400 lbs of goods in the house, 2 cabinets and 2 drawers of kitchen items we found the next day, silverware, pots pans junk drawer items, and many other things they could not take because they ran out of packing material.
I had to try and sell the items left because I did not have room to take them, and had to make a extra trip for the rest, $750 out of pocket expenses because they hire manual laborers that have no idea how to pack and move a house…..NOT one thing we moved was not damaged in some way….scratched, dented broken, a piece of a set broken, good Christmas china packed in a box with NO PACKING MATERIAL AT ALL.
Don’t judge for yourself, you will be sorry. Company already has a BBB alert!
