Bidou Bids

I filled out a survey in early November 2013 and was given a choice of three free gifts. I chose an iPod Shuffle. I was asked to pay $3.00 for shipping and handling which I paid with my credit card. At no time did I agree to a membership with Bidou Bids nor was there a prompt asking me to agree to their terms and conditions.

Two weeks later on November 26th 2013,I noticed a charge on my credit card for $49.00 CA plus the $3.00 shipping and handling charges. I Googled Bidou and found their web page. I contacted them using the number they provided on their website 1 (866) 864-1778 and there is a recording that the number is not in service.
On December 9th 2013, I then sent Bidou an email asking them to refund the $49.00 immediately as I did not authorize this amount and I do not want to proceed with the offer for the free iPod.
They responded the same day December 9th 2013, confirming they have cancelled my membership effective January 2nd 2014. However, they refused to refund membership charge. Please read their response below:
“We would like to apologize but your refund request has been denied. As it shows here, you have already used 10 bids. Refunds are approved only if no bids or credits have been used.”
I have no idea what they are talking about? What are bids? When did I use them? What did I use them for? I never signed up with them and am not aware of having any account with them. Plus there is no information for the free iPod I was suppose to receive or the shipping and handling charges of $3.00.

I have sent multiple emails trying to get answers but to no avail. I have launched a complaint through VISA who is going to dispute this claim on my behalf.
