We were invited to a presentation at Embassy Suites in San Diego to listen to a sales pitch for travel/accommodations/car rental by City Travel Brokers. They said because we paid retail prices online, either priceline or Expedia, that's how they got our names. I noticed that the attendees were all about the same ages, so that's a lie. Buyers beware! We were promised travel vouchers for air to anywhere within the US just by listening to their sales pitch. Although the presentation was interesting, we made the mistake by admitting we had a timeshare. Don't do that. They targeted us later and wanted us to sell the timeshare and buy their program for $9,400. They were persistent to say the least. They even got a timeshare broker on the phone and promised he could get a lot of money for our timeshare. They wanted us to give them $4300 then and there and once the timeshare sold we would owe them the balance. If we didn't buy immediately we weren't guaranteed the VIP package, just the regular package with a limitation of a 10 year membership. We ended up passing on the deal thank goodness and got our travel vouchers that now costs $120 to activate and as I read about orbital promotions, they are a scam!!!!! So, buyer beware...not what it seems. We are mad, but should have known better that nothing is for free!

  • My wife and I were invited to the same location on 12/4/2013. When we registered they asked us for a valid Credit Card (NOT DEBIT)- we were appalled and we don't use Credit (Dave Ramsey). I wrote that on the sign in and after sitting for 10 minutes, one of the sales leads approached us and gave us the vouchers claiming that we did not meet their criteria, and we would not have to sit the presentation. The whole deal - Orbital Promotions, City Travel Brokers, etc. stinks worse than a crimeshare presentation. At least with the timeshare the promotion item or gift usually works out!
