International boundaries

I purchased the free trial only paying postage. Then on receipt as I paid it then said would take out monthly payment for product unless I cancelled within 14 days. I'm in Australia so I immediately cancelled as the product would not get to me before the 14 days. Received no confirmation of cancellation. I have now had two payments come out of my card. The distributor wouldn't help, I phoned the USA and they couldn't help. I emailed and they couldn't help stop payments. I've ended up putting in A dispute with the bank and had to cancel my card. Once cancelled received two cancellation emails from company. Still tried to contact back but no answer. Have decided to try and get them in trouble with the Australia. Consumer commission for the company.
Have however learnt a very big lesson.
