I went to my College Tech Support Website and Omni-Tech support came up. I sincerely believed I was talking to my school tech. dept. Now, hind site I think it was a "pop up" and didn't realize it. They said it would cost me $250.00 to fix my problem, (clear room on C drive). They did not clear up enough room to download Ofc 365 that I needed for school, whole reason for call. they moved around my information and I could not locate them. I went to the Geek Squad and in 30 min. they freed up 2/3 of my C drive and installed ofc word for $30.00. I also called Norton and they said they can scan for everything. I asked Omni specifically if Norton could do the same thing and OMmi said that Polymorphic viruses can't be detected by them. Norton said otherwise. I contacted my school and they said they never charge there students and researched and said they had no idea who I was talking to but it wasn't there school. MY counselor suggested I immediately stop the checks. I have tried to contact omni and am promised a phone call from Supervisor, I requested they not cash my checks. they said I should hear from someone in 24 hrs. I already waited 24 hrs and heard nothing. after looking on line it's looking like there a scam. I don't know if they can get into my account now or not?? I gave them routing numbers and account numbers. They did ask for check numbers and they were postdated checks. If I'm lucky I have time to take action to protect myself.

  • As these allegations are posted anonymously, so obviously we are not in a position to offer any comments as to what actually transpired. We provide cost-effective support to thousands of satisfied customers every day and swiftly address any problems or misunderstandings a customer might have. That's why we have earned and maintained an A+ rating from the BBB.

We need more details from this person as to why he/she allegedly contacted us, his email address and on what date he came in to us for help, so that we can retrieve the recordings and investigate the alleged issue. Generally, our technician runs a free diagnosis, using a respected third-party diagnosis tool on the customer’s computer to uncover the root of the problem as the initial step. We might have checked his computer and it showed some system errors and polymorphic viruses and that scan result was conveyed to him. We cannot create a fake scan result.

We access the customer’s computer using a trusted remote 3rd-party access tool called “LogMeIn”. Our process is very transparent. The customer can watch and control every movement of our technician and, can terminate the remote control by a single click. Once customer revokes the remote access, our technicians cannot re-establish the connection on their own without customer’s assistance/grant, so that simply did not happen. Obviously, we are not related to the customer’s College Tech Support and we are a fee-based independent online tech support organization. We identify ourselves, clearly, on initial contact. If the customer asked to cancel the service and asked us not to charge him, then he will not be charged if the issue was not fixed by us. Anyway, the customer’s account details are not recorded as all payments are handled by third party payment gateway (USAePay). This person certainly misunderstood our process.

As always, we are here to assist people who truly need our experienced technician’s help regarding their any software issues.
