Found Digital SLR camera on Google search via eCrater.com. Told me that he had to ship from Australia and it would take 24 working days. I asked for a tracking number and he replied promptly. I waited two weeks checking the given tracking number; no progress. I contacted Australia postal and they said normally it's three days. I email him several times with no replies. Now his "store-front" has disappeared from eCrater.com. Still no reply. I did find the new dimension site again but this time on eCrater.co.uk. The issue is not with eCrater.* but with "newdimension" and "Ever Chuo". Fortunately I used PayPal who will cover me for my potential loss. I'd just letting people out there to watch out for this one. He had set up his site with artifical references and reviews as well.

  • Just wondering if you ever recieved your camera from this guy, or was it a complete scam. I did the exact same thing. It's been 26 days now...which so I guess I gave it more time. However, no camera yet.

  • No, I've not received it yet. Seriously doubt that its coming. I went ahead and opened a ticket with PayPal and they immediately escalated the issue.

  • Hi everyone. Just I suspected nothing ever arrived, and the seller is no where to be found. As I said, I used PayPal to cover make my purchase, and they credited my credit card after completing a fraud investigation in my favor. He will not be able to use PayPal as a revenue resource again. I'm not here to endorse PayPal but I'm glad they protected me. Remember: the seller was known as "newdimension" dealing with a CANON EOS 60D or NIKON D90 kits. He signs he email as "Ever Chuo" BTW he's back on line under the URL: http://newdimension.ecrater.com/

  • The website does not appear to be completely up because there is no inventory or referrals pages up. I'm going to keep and eye on this guy.

  • Here's just a little more information. Before I had placed my order, I sent an email asking about delievery time. About a week later I recived an email from a Phillip Yeager <[email protected]> saying it would take 16-21 days and that he only had two more in stock (the 60D).

After seeing your inital post here on scambook, I imediatly started working with PayPal. I also send two emails on my own, both to Ever Chuo and to this Phillip Yeager....no response from either.

  • The delay in "shipping" because it goes through customs is B.S. I actually asked for a tracking number and he sent me a bogus one. He said that it would not be traceable until out of US customs. I also Google mapped that Yeager address. It's in the middle of some game reserve (aka. nowhere). I've also done some research on ecrater.com as well. I'm not going to say they are "bad" but I'd be concerned. There has been no response to my complaints and the fact that newdimension still has a web presence through them makes me wonder about their business ethics; either they don't care or they could be colluding. I was told ecrater caters more to the seller because of the overhead with ebay. Considering this experience I'll NEVER visit or consider using ecrater for anything. Here's the other thing, I got to newdimension via Google search under "shopping" Pricegrabber type site referred bye to newdimension.

  • Final thing for all of you out there purchasing expensive cameras and accessories (lenses). Google search “grey market cameras” or one of the three links below. Although they are new, first rate merchandise, you can encounter warranty issues and sometimes, parts of the camera kit may be removed or replaced with a different quality product. The main thing is that you must send the item back to the SELLER for warranty work and NOT to the manufacturing company. Extra step and delay on your warranty. They are supposed to tell you up front but what could be hidden in the small print. You should know before purchasing, so ASK so you are making an informed purchase.
