I was hired in September to be a mail clerk for ShipWiz, Inc by May Chen, their HR Representative. I completed all the forms for a background check, W4, I-9, Direct Deposit etc and was to be paid for the first time on 10-20-2013.
For the last week I have been unable to reach my assigned supervisor, Maria Koffman by email or phone. Today the main website for the company is down: www.ship-wiz.com and the phone number is constantly busy. Maria's phone number is going straight to voicemail.
I have called the Miami Police Economic Fraud Dept to file a report. I have also reported them to my local postal inspector, the Labor Commission and my local authorities.
I too did a background check, BBB and internet search on the company and found no scam reports or bad info. I also found that the owner had been in business since 2006.
This is a shameful way to make money. Everyone one of them needs to be behind bars!!!

- I know how all of you feel! Maria Koffman, and I am sure this is not her "real name of course" switches up every month with a different name and lists of employees. This month mailu. They will be caught. They are not that smart and they have made a lot of mistakes. People who do this get greedy and then stupid. Trust me, they will get caught. I feel so bad for everyone who went through this like me. All we can do is file through the FBI and make copies of everything you have for report. We all know what not to do now! Right???

I just filed a complaint against Mail U. Yes it seems they are very savvy. Today was supposed to be that first check, and nothing. Please file fraud reports with all and any local and federal authorities that you can!

- After an intense research the two most important things to do is: File with the FBI and even more important; file with the US postal inspector. You can do both on-line. I knew that this was a very well orchestrated phony business but until pay-day came and went... I was told that I could not file a report. So it was brutal having to stick it out the entire month. I was able to collect a lot of evidence though. I just wish I had put "Shipwiz" and "Mailu" together. Thank GOD someone mentioned "Maria Koffman" right here on Scambook. I saved copies of everything and have even received a bill (for a same as cash 6 months interest free). They must have access to a lot of stolen credit card numbers to be able to purchase these items and then send them re bundled to their customers, or friends maybe it is their family in Russia, England and even Thailand. I did have one shipment in America so it did take me awhile to figure it out completely. PLEASE EVERYONE!!! although it makes it nearly impossible to file a complaint against a company that closes every month and starts over, still use what you have to report this. For these individuals to take the time and do corporate reports, FOR YEARS, and then go in for the million dollar kill, it is just unbelievable. It really messed me up because I turned down good, legal jobs for this job and, I expected a check as well as all of you. They crossed their "T's" but forgot to dot their "I's." What surprised me is that these individuals still used Maria Koffman's name. If she had not have called me so many times I would have thought her to of been a guy for some reason but that thick "Russian" female accent voice that called and she did introduce herself as "Maria" every time. I can still hear her talking! I bet this won't happen to any of us twice!!!
