I have been trying to get a free cell phone since July. It is impossible to speak with an English-as-a-first-language person. I faxed and refaed my SNAP Award letter. Yourtel changed my ID # without telling me. On Tuesday I actually spoke with a supervisor after being told that "there was a miscommunication in the warehouse" and that is why my phone had not been shipped after all this time. I told them to forget it, I dont' want the phone, and to credit my sister's account for the "free" phone that had to be paid for. Nope, can't do that. "Just send the phone back and we will credit your sister's account." I had no clue that I had ordered an "upgraded" version of whatever the basic phone is. So today the phone does arrive: It is NOT the phone I had ordered at all. It looks like a refurbished Android. It is a Sprint phone, which Yourtel promised would work in my area. It does not work in my area. It is on roaming and you have to pay to use Yourtel roaming. I am sending this phone back next week, and they had better credit my sister's account. A letter will also be sent to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of whatever state they are operating from. In the meantime, SafeLink was easy to work with and I will be receiving a phone from them after only one fax of proof of my SNAP benefits, and there is free roaming and international calls.
