I responded to an ad in Craigslist for a MacBook Air for $300. "Marissa Mayberry" emailed with pictures of the computer that I have since seen associated with other complaints, telling me she'd moved to Edmonton and wanted to use Intercargo as a deliverer/escrow agent who would take my money after picking up the computer from her, deliver the computer to me, and, after I signaled I was satisfied, release the money to Marissa. I wired money via Western Union to an "agent" named Daniel Morton in Bolton, England, and notified Intercargo. That was the last I heard from anyone. I have found that all addresses are bogus. The company is bogus. I was stupid to fall for such a classic scam. I have filed a criminal complaint with IC3 - Internet Crime Complaint Center, and intend to pursue this until I find the scoundrels. I am going to get a subpoena served on Western Union to find out the name and the Western Union office where "Daniel Morton" picked up the money and follow up to see if anyone knows who he is. I am a recently retired attorney (I know, I should know better, but I'm greedy), and I am going to make this my hobby. If anyone out there knows anything that would be of help to me, please comment to this complaint. Thanks.

I wish I read this post earlier and now I'm crying when knowing this. I was looking for a mini ipad for school and saw a post on craigslist that I was really excited. Email the seller whose name is Marissa. She told me she was in Canada but she found intercargo as the third party to ship the ipad. Everything seemed so real to me. They asked me to wire the money through western union to Daniel Morton. They also sent me the detailed form. After wiring money, they provided the tracking number. Couple days later, I felt strange so I went to check the tracking number and the website they provided wasn't available anymore. The ipad supposed to come on Wednesday 25th, but it NEVER comes. I sent tons of message to them, but it all appeared "Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed:[email protected]". That Marissa never responds to my email no more. I can't believe they do that to students. I work my butts off to buy the ipad, but now I have nothing. I know I lost my money FOREVER, so I hope nobody falls into their trap. Please spread this message.

- this same thing happen'd to me with the same person and i was looking for a lawyer i could call to find out a way to find these fools. if you think you could help me in any james please contact my email at (Personal Information Removed). i am also going to follow your steps in filing a complaint with the IC3 and find out from western union what i can. thank-you for your knowledge but these assholes are still out here and they got me today for 300.

The same thing happened to me, I received the same bogus emails and tracking/invoice numbers. Their scams appeared legitimate so I thought I could trust them. I already filed a complaint with IC3 and I will follow up with Western Union as well. I'm in college and I was really hoping this IPAD would help me a lot especially because it was cheaper and I'm on a really tight budget.I want these guys caught and I don't want this to happen to anyone else. So if anyone know any info to help catch these guys that would be great. Also, I know this is almost impossible, as my money was sent through Western Union and most likely withdrawn, but is there anything I can do to get my money back?

- Hi Joanne, I've been researching nonstop for the solution of getting the money back. However, if these scammers don't get caught,I don't think money will come back to us. :(
