I had to make a payment to the IRS. From the IRS epay website page they listed pay1040.com as one of the vendors they endorse to use. (Because apparently the IRS is not capable of taking a one time payment from a checking account... in this day and age??) The IRS website listed their fees...$2.99 to use a debit card and 2.35% to use a credit card. When you get to the PA1040.com website you are only given one option...credit/debit. So I highlighted credit/debit. I of course wanted the most reasonable price so I pulled out my debit card and input the #'s. When the processed transaction appeared there was a $28.59 'Pay1040 Convenience Fee in the tally (2.35% of my payment to the IRS). I have contacted customer service several times and they refuse to charge the the $2.99 and credit me the $28.59. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
