Approached at Airport upon arrival. Claimed to have missed his outbound flight. Needed money for hotel until next flight. no more flights to PA that day. "Had no credit cards." Claimed he was U of PA grad. w/job offer in Vegas for Dupont. Knew some Chem. Eng. (That's my undergrad. degree as well.) Gave this number and address: (347) 484-2455 at 1198 Driftwood Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15243. He said my trust would "enhance the reputation of Jewish people." I told him I didn't care about his religion, just please repay me.
Fooled me.

  • Michael Borovetz had the same approach with me at SFO airport on July 26th and I reluctantly lent him $200.00. The next day I was feeling uneasy about his story and looked him up on google with the zip code he provided. The first thing that came up was the info from scam alert and other concerning factors like professional poker playing that alarmed & disappointed me.
I immediately called Michael and left a message at the number he provided, expressing my findings & concerns. To my surprise, Michael called me back and assured me that the stories reported were exaggerations at best and I shouldn't believe everything written. He assured me- I'd get my money back by the end of the following week. I told him that it was disappointing in many levels, and that he obviously has some ability beyond scamming and it would be a good time to demonstrate it by paying me and all previously scammed back. I'd inform all on this site and beyond if he paid. The problem was his approach was identical to all complaints previously filed. I doubted I'd get my money because I was one of many.
I'm happy to announce--Michael paid me the $200 as he promised via Western Union. He obviously has been going through some difficulties in life but has some obvious abilities and demonstrated his honesty by paying me back. He not only restored my faith in him but my optimism about the goodness in humanity-Thank You Michael & wish you well! ---Richard D
