Six months ago I purchased a Flexsteel sofa. This was $3000 investment; I hoped to use it for years. The second day I owned it the frame broke. The staples that hold the frame together had not penetrated the two pieces of wood. Yes it is stapled together. A visual inspection of the frame at the factory should have caught this. When the frame collapsed it ripped the fabric. The local dealer had the sofa repaired. Six months later the other side of the frame collapsed. I first tried to contact Flexsteel. They will not call me or respond it emails. The local dealer assured me he will have it fixed. I then sent a new request to Flexsteel to contact me. This request including the Maine Implied Warranty of Merchantability Law, 11 M.R.S.A. 2-314. A copy of the letter was sent to the Maine Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division. Flexsteel has not contacted me.
