I RECEIVED AN EMAIL TELLING ME I HAVE A $39.95 CREDIT AND MY CARD WAS CHARGED. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOUND OUT THEY GET 100'S OF CALL A DAY WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!!! CUSTOMERS ARE UNAWARE WHEN THEY SIGN UP THEY WILL BE CHARGED MONTHLY. I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE NO WAY TO ISSUE A CREDIT, YET OTHERS ON THIS SITE WERE ISSUED A CREDIT SO THERE IS SOME WAY EVEN THOUGH THEY LIED AND SAID THERE IS NO WAY IN THE SYSTEM. THEY JUST REPEAT THEY CAN'T REFUND BUT I HAVE A CREDIT AND I HAVE TO SPEND IT!!! TIMES THAT BY HUNDREDS OF TIME A DAY AND YOU AN SEE HOW THIS SCUM WOMAN MAKES HER MONEY. ADAM GOLDBERG ADMITS THIS RETENTION PLAN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO QUIT THE PLAN FOR A CUSTOMER. YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY FORCED TO MAKE ANOTHER PURCHASE FOR $40 BEFORE YOU CAN CANCEL. I CALL THAT A THUG, A THIEF A SCUM! IF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ARE CALLING IN A DAY THERE IS NO WAY THIS INFORMATION IS CLEAR WHEN PEOPLE SIGN UP. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SENSE, DERM STORE OR ANY OTHER BRANCH OF COMPANIES ASSOCIATED WITH THESE THUGS!!!!!

Brian O’Malley wrote that subscription models are totally overblown. “Investors love the concept of repeatable revenue but he cautioned that “high retention may be only a function of how hard sites make it to cancel.”
