I submitted a request via Alibaba.com and received an email from Mandy Lin from www.ktrade.com claiming she is from Kingstar Trade Co., Ltd. She quoted me good prices on digital cameras. I wired money to her account after she emailed me the invoice with Kingstar Trade Co., Ltd. letter head. She promised me the shipment in the next 2 days after money clear. She then contacted me again stating that I need to pay customs taxes as customs has retained my order. She wanted me to wire more money to pay for customs so that they can release the shipment which never left China. After several emails back and forth she said she would give me discount on customs taxes. She said she'd pay half of the customs taxes and I just need to wire her half of the fee. I did not wire more money and there have been no communication from her since I told her I am not paying for taxes as she previously stated that there was no customs issue when exporting cameras. She gave me a bogus DHL shipping number that is not valid. I should have done more research before wiring any money to China. I thought this was a legit company because I sent inquiry via alibaba.com.
