My elderly mother was having problems with her Yahoo mail. She looked on line for a number to Yahoo for support, and when she called the number that was listed on the Yahoo site she ended up wit PC Experts. They proceeded to tell her that she had a Trojan and that the had to take control of her PCM to fix the problem. They also told her that it would cost $225, but that would also include a years worth of support. Later that day my mother called me and told me what happened. I immediately thought it sounded fishy, and as I looked into it more it became obvious that this was a scam. I even called the 800 number myself and asked if they were associated with Yahoo, and of course they said they were. Then I asked why they charged $225 to fix my mother's Yahoo account, and the guy told me she had a virus before I even gave him her name or ticket number. That is what confirmed to me this was a scam. I am posting this in the hopes that it might help someone else and hopefully some day shut these guys down.
