I had trouble accessing emails on Yahoo website, so I dialed a toll free # listed on one of the dropdown boxes. Not sure of the # but think it was either 855-837-9965, 888-729-7332. I thought it was ligit from Yahoo. They requested that I sign on and let them take charge of my p.c. and said they could fix it for $399.00 {I thought it was only $3.99}. Said it would take 45 minutes to an hour.I told them that I had an appointment and might have to leave, so they said it's ok just leave it on and call when I got back. I didn't feel comfortable doing that so, cancelled the appointment. I watched them most of the time as they scrolled through. I did hang up and called them back after about 30 minutes. They said they were almost through. Just before hanging gave me the address listed to send the check to. and an email of [email protected]. Said they could not accept a credit card, but I need to send a check or money order right away. After a day or so, I called Yahoo customer service, who told me that it was a scam and informed me that they don't charge. They warned me not to send any money. {which I had not planned to do anyway}
They called me from a # 289-645-2401 {Oshawa} on 5/1 @ 11:46 a.m., and called me about 10 times on a # that read Skype user 661-748-0240. I told them the 1st couple of times that I did not plan to send them anything. The other times, I just didn't answer the call. I got calls on 5/21,5/22,5/24/5/28 {4Xs},6/4 and last call I received was on June 5th. I guess they they finally gave up.
