Booked a hotel suite for a conference in October 2013 (5 months away) for 3 of us who would be sharing for 4 nights. I didn't realize that I was not booking through the hotel directly but through an intermediary web site. I discovered 5 days later that they had charged the entire amount of over $1000.00 to my credit card. I was also ticked off at Visa for allowing such a purchase through that clearly put me over my Visa limit. Complained and was given a Visa credit but I will never book through the internet again--next time I will phone a hotel directly!

Dear sir/madame,
Thanks for bringing this misunderstanding to our attention. We assumed the payment policy on our website is clear, but can you maybe explain what went wrong, so we can help others in the futere by improving our communication about this? Thanks.
Kind regards,
