This Guy by the name of Christopher Brown called me and said he was a payday lender and told me I was approved for a $1000 loan and he told me that I had to pay my first payment of $100 and to go get a Greendot moneypak and then I did it and now he wants me to get one for $150to pay the western union fee I did it then he said I had to pay for insurance $80 I did it now I'm waiting on a call back and I told him I hope this isn't a scam and he said no it's not he isn't a scamer and now I'm calling and he isn't picking up and I need my money back

- sorry dude.....it's a scam!!! Pure and simple....the persons are likely not even in the US so no our laws won't touch them and you don't have anything but false information on them anyway so that money you sent it pretty much just lost. Do report the crime though as somebody has to be keeping stats on these scams. The only way to protect yourself is to keep educated on how to spot them so that the scammers don't have any more victims. and yes of course they are going to deny being scammers
