I was on the computer on ABC site at the bottom of the screen it showed a ad of Channel #6 News about a web page Bizrate auctioning off 1000 I-pads TODAY ONLY for $35.00, and U could get 25 FREE BIDS USING THE PROMO CODE (FREE BIDS) I had never heard of the site, nor had I ever used an auction site before, that uses bids anyway. I'm only familiar with e-bay. Anyway I figured it can't hurt to try to check it out to get 25 free bids to see if I could try to get the one of the $35 I-Pads, That's all I was interested in. I put the Promo code in the place it asked for it, and the only reason I put my credit card # in was because I know a few other sites for example (Blockbuster's Free First Trial Week U put your credit card #, so when the week expires U either, cancel or they bill your card if U wish to continue with their services) As soon as I did, I got a message that said Thank U for your purchase! I knew I hadn't purchased anything so I started to investigate. Sure enough when I called they said I had purchased a bid package of 150 bids for $99.00, I was furious, they refused to credit back my card, they claimed it was right there, that I accepted the terms and conditions and that their policy is NO REFUNDS!!!! Those words came back to haunt me, I ended up protesting the charge with my bank, who initially credited me the amount, then in July charged it again due to those words(terms & conditions & no refunds) I found out that the $99.00 was on the same page as the Free Bids, but way on the left side in small print, (whereas usually U would have to go to a specific page for Bid Packages) So being the wording was on the page and I didn't see it, even though the bank, and I, and even bizrate knows all I was trying to do was to get the FREE 25 BIDS, My bank had no choice but to pay the $99.00. This company is screwing everyone, legally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK!!!!
I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO GET THIS ON CLARK HOWARD'S CNN
I WAS LOOKING TODAY ACTUALLY TO SEE IF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT HAD BEEN FILED YET AGAINST THEM, WHEN I FOUND THIS SITE. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT, BUT IF SOMEONE DOES, I'M IN. THANKS
