I received a call from a Jamaican phone number 876-428-1192. The man had an accent which I never heard of, but is certainly not American or not from anyone who is from any natively English-speaking country. He tells me I won $3.5 million and a Mercedes Benz car. I am very reluctant about calls from anonymous numbers, but I listened to what the man had to say. He introduced himself as David Green from Mega Millions Lottery Company, and he asked me to call 876-453-6442 and request to speak to a certain Mr. Peterson, who will give me instructions on how to claim my prize. I didn't call the number, as it's obviously a scam, but I guess the guy had a way of determining whether I've called the number he gave me or not. He called me back, and when he did I decided to confront him, asking how he got my number (as I had my caller ID blocked and registered to the Do Not Call register), why he's calling me from Jamaica, and that I never joined any lotteries. Without further ado, he hung up, figuring that I have dissolved their scheme. I'll never fall for any of these scams anymore. Good thing this is a known scam.
