This case came about because of a pair of canvas trekker shoes wiht green insert of green suede. I wore the shoes and after 3 days had a case of exema which turned inot extreme exema, I called lands end after going ot a Soctor aho also b lamed it on th eshoes, and I told the girl, Marlene Johnson, what was wrong, she was very kind and said she would see what she could do, she offered ot pay for the Doctor but i had insurance, she insisted so she paid aobut 30 dollars , then I told her there is no cure for this, if it doesn't go away I am going ot ask for some compensation, I needed new shoes made in America, not cheap, she sent me a check that said settlement all over it, I said I didnt want ot settle, I had ot have an evaluation and now I know this is not curable and I need to check it out some more, she sent an email saying it was not a settlement, all the chcks say that, I have the email , she tried to recall it and couldn't, she said no its not a settlement, that is the checks they use for everything, it is just to help me out wiht shoes and anything I need so I said thank you and I cashed the check, a week later I received a check from Landsend saying the case settled on the back of the check reciept. I knew I couldn't sue for the shoes anymore, so I let it go , but after talking to my friend who is an ex lawyer he said what Marlene did is fraud, intent ot keep me from my right to sue, and it worked, she should be sued along with landsend for letting here get away wiht that. this was a pure illegal transaction. I never agreed to settle and cetainly not for 895.00 I contacted the head of compliance there in the corporate offices, he asked me to send my medical records and I had already sent him my pictures and he said we'll see what we can do after I look at them records, well he claimed that everyone is coming down wiht something nowadays and asked what I would consider compensation, , I didn't know what to say, I was sure he would not think anything I said would be cheap enough to pay out so I left it up ot him but he never did give me a price, I told him I can't keep hanging on because I had a sick husband and I want to move so I am busy. I didn't hear from him until I got an email dated the 6th of may saying he was turning this over to his insurance company and to have my lawyer contact them and I would be hearing from them soon. . now I can't get a lawyer because there is not aenough money involved for any lawyer to take this case, I wss going to ask for 10,000 dollars, but a lawyer won't take a case for that, I would have to sue for a lot more in order to get a lawyer. This is a lifetime affliction, there is no cure, I have the Doctors notes proving that I did in fact get this from my new shoes, shoe dye is notorius for giving people exema, especially if its bad shoe dye. China does not have the best quality control. Landsend is not the same as it used ot be , neither are the clothes, I am an old customer , I've been shopping there for years, I don't much anymore because the quality of the clothes and the customer service has gone down but I still feel i ahould be compensated for what I have gone through and what I will continue ot go through for the rest of my life and I think that is cheap at the price, I would have taken less if he had offered now I don't know.These people seem ot have nothing but itme to waste, a few days of making you wait here and a few days there and before you know it a month has gone by.I don't think Mr Peterson had any intentions of helpin gme or giving me anything.
