Hi, my name is Carol Vanacore and my son is Nicholas Vanacore. He is 17. He had a car for all of 6 days. It was purchased on April 4/20/2011. It ran for 2 days.. But it's pretty sad. Nick and myself I own a local business went shopping for cars. He saved up his money. I even took a mechanic friend with me. After several weeks we ended up at Farrels Deals on Wheels on the White Horse Pike in Egg Harbor.. Well... they sold us a beautiful 1998 mazda.... My mechanic friend checked for codes.. none were present.. he has pictures of the erased codes ..as well as the codes popping up later.... apparently..this lovely vehicle needed and 02 censor and also a cataytic convertor... about $1000.00 worth of more thing.. Now the car only ran two days before breaking down.. but what makes my son upset... is the car was totalled after SIX days..a gentleman ran a stop sign. When purchasing the car from the dealership...we purchased a year warranty for a few hundred dollars. This money was supposed to come back to my son. When the car was totalled I supplied paper work to the company Cars protection plus and spoke to a gentleman named jaimie 1 888 335 6838. He told me that sometimes dealers would not return the money as it was "packaged in" and I may have to call the better business burea. When I asked the owner about Nicks money. The owner of the car dealership (John Farrell) He said I could not have the money back. I would have to put it towards another car in their lot only. This poor kid not only got a car that lasted two days.. broke down. They erased the codes. They refuse to give him back (his money) They would have never knew that the car was totalled. I now will be going to the better business bureau and wherever else I can go. But also my son's first lesson in life is that people are thieves. I would really appreciate just a chance for you to speak to me. My son is a great, funny kid. He worked hard to save this money. I don't know how they expect us to want to buy a car from them. When I call up they just laugh at me. The man that we bought the car from (skip) isn't even there. And when I call for the owner he is always out buying cars.. Would you please look into this. If anything, I think this would be a heart warming piece. Thank you for taking the time to consider this. My only real problem is my son wants the warranty money back. My son's car is totalled. The warranty money should go back to my son. They cant force us to buy a car there. The Cars Protection plus told me to contact you. please help
