After I filled out the form advertised on LinkedIn to join business network Who's Who in Canada for no charge, I received a call from their rep Christina. Interviewing me took almost an hour, then she was pushing me to purchase their membership starting from the most expensive. I was rejecting all those options and mentioned that they advertised to join them for free. Eventually she offered free admission but monthly fee at 9.95. I didn't have time to think about all this, but as it was advertised on LinkedIn and the conversation looked as a real business, I was thinking it is legitimate and gave my credit card number, which was billed instantly during our conversation. Now I have to spend a lot of time to read all this information and realize that I was fooled by scam. I called bank to block my card. Now I am afraid how all my information will be used and by whom. Feel unprotected.
