My 2-year contract with T-mobile ran out on Jan 1, 2013. I ported my number to another carrier on Jan 3, 2013. I did not break the contract.
Now T-Mobile is billing me for service for all of Jan 2013 (their billing cycle ends on the 28th of each month). I'm told them I should be billed only for the period Dec 28, 2012-Jan 3, 2013.
I have the 1-page contract I signed (at Best Buy), it does not stipulate that I need to pay for the entire billing cycle. T-Mobile continues to insist that I signed on to that provision and is now threatening to send this matter to collections agencies.
I had been with T-Mobile from 1998 through this year and this is how they treat me. I ported my number only because of my job requirements (lots of travel) and T-Mobile's service is not available in all the areas I travel to.
The amount in question (billed amount) is $51.17.
