Also received a check of $3750.00 from SunLife Financial. According to the letter, I have won CAD $131,250.00 by shopping at one of the large chains in NA. I need to pay Europe non-resident tax and a processing fee of $2280.00. Apparently, after the payments I will receive a seond check... but I am advised to contact my claim againts immediately "for further directives"... There are various spelling and grammar mistakes in this letter...

  • I got the same cheque (very professionally printed) and letter today. I am supposed to cash the $3750.00 cheque, then send that money to the "lottery" to cover $950.00 in processing fees and $1570.00 in non-resident taxes. They will send me $120,000.00 in 48 hours.

The scam works because it will take a week or 2 before the fraudulent 1st cheque comes back and your bank comes after you for the money that you withdrew and sent to the fake lottery crooks.
