On February 7, 2013 I received a call from a Randal Peters, Collection Agent at 520 White Plains Road, Suite 500, Tarrytown NY 10591 (1-800-493-1359 ext 409 or 1(914)-205-6362) for Online Local Yellow Pages saying I owed them $677.39. They said they had called in October and one of my employees gave them permission to go ahead with a website for us. They said they had sent invoices that I, of course, did not receive. They then played a recording of him saying yes to whether this was our correct address. The recording was edited as I could hear the clicking and difference in tone of his voice when they asked if he was authorized to make decisions for our business-they inserted "yes". My employee told them he was not authorized, and knows I am the only one who makes decisions like that for our small business. They did ask him to pay with a credit card that day, and of course he is not authorized and when they asked then how we would pay, he said to send an invoice. I have never used yellow pages and would never want to.
Then the calls began to come every day from these people and because I had read on many websites that this was a scam, and they were calling from a Private Number, I did not pick up the phone after the second harassing and threatening call.
Last week I got an email from Jonny Thomas Pre-legal Agent Online Local Yellow Pages at( 1(866) 764-4085 Ext. 417) saying this was being turned over to a Third Party Collections and it would hurt our good credit. He said I now owed $747.40 but they would settle for $672.66.
I know this is a scam and want to report it as such. I would never send money to a phone solicitor for something I did not order, nor have anything in writing that I have signed. I would never buy from anyone calling from a Private Number.
