We purchased a round trip ticket (Feb8,2013 to Feb21, 2013) via www.cheapoair.com on Nov 6, 2012. The total cost is $1239.73 ($82.42 tax and fee included). Due to family emergency, we cancelled the ticket on Feb 1, 2013. The confirmation email sent from customer care said that we would be charged additional $286.11 and we got refund for $1039.73. They also said that the tax cannot be refunded.

The email did not mention any details of how these fee were calculated and what kind of document and policy they take as reference. We called customer cares three times and demanded the formal written document of the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, We have never got these detail explanation in written.

As a consumer, we know we have to pay for the cancellation, but we have rights to know how we get charged. In this case, we felt that we were cheated and were treated unfairly.

We lost total $489.11. We was told that Airline charged $200 cancellation fee and www.cheapoair.com charged another $86.11 as service fee. Meanwhile, they also charge additional $ 117.58 as penalty. $85.42 tax was not refundable. We want to know how these number come from and what kind of formula they used to calculated...

We put monetary damages as $203.69 ( $117.58+$86.11) because we cannot pay service fee plus penalty without knowing the policy and details information. There is sufficient information on www.cheapoair.com, but only missing these details of cancellation procedure, Why?

We reserve our right to purse more monetary damages if this issue cannot be solved.
