I approached Lear Capital to invest some retirement savings into physical Silver.
Jody Alway was the company Rep that was my contact person and wanted to inform me on the benefits of my decision to invest with Lear and silver bullion.
After many conversations and setting up my account, I wired my money to Lear.
I then received a call from Alex Alexeff who I never spoke to or was introduced.
It seems that once they have my money - sweet talking Jody leaves the scene and Alex the shark steps in.
From the onset of my discussions with these people at Lear Capital I had expressed my intent on purchasing silver bullion at spot price.
In the midst of busy work schedule of mine - Alex had phoned me in middle of the day congratulating me that he had purchased my silver bullion just under $30 per ounce. He was somewhat fast talking and double talking in his conversations.
After all was said and done, I receive confirmation that what was actually purchased with my money were speculative 5 oz collector coins at $235 each.
All I know is that my initial investment into silver has gone down $10,000 since my purchase with these people, which represents 1/3 of my investment!
Buyer - beware of these people, they prey on the unsophisticated investor. I have since purchased alot more silver - but not through these crooks. I have spread the word when I can to never speak to Lear Capital - as well I plan to tell this and other stories I am familiar with of ripoffs from Lear, I will be contacting the Rush Limbaugh Show, 77 am radio and any other advertisers Lear Capital use to get their name out. • I am aware of a similar "transaction" involving an elder man who was investing the majority of his assets. He wanted to buy gold and ended up paying a 30% spread on "collector coins". I'm confident he had no idea he was paying a HUGE commission - or that he was buying coins with limited value. The people working at Lear Capital are scoundrels.
