I am a home owner who has a home with 3 bedrooms for rent. I found this Monica on Craigslist that wanted a room in which she would pay $700.00 per month with paid utilities. She claims her uncle would send the cashiers check and to take the rent out and pay the courier who was going to have her belongings sent to my home. Well the check did arrive but she emailed me and sent a message of urgency to deposit the check and I should take $2,000. out of the check and make her a check to a "John Peters" who was the person responsible to pay for her belongings instead of myself. The envelope not have a return address on it and the postage was sent from Lome-Cnpt/Republiue Togolaise. Some foreign country, possibly Nigeria. This is a Big Scam for the innocent people who really think a person wants to rent a room and they are only behind the keyboard taking advantage of people and their monies. I have reported this scam to the authorities.
