This has not been a pleasant business transaction to say the least. I was under the impression, when I signed up with this company that I could receive “any magazine out there today.”
I spoke with a young man and I specifically asked him- “ I could get Cosmopolitan or something that I would normally be buying monthly from a store?” The response was yes. I assumed from that conversation that national magazines would then be available to me. So, instead of signing me up for the magazines I wanted right over the phone, I was signed up with three magazines to get me started. I was then told that once the first copies of the magazines arrived I could get a master list of all the magazine titles available today. At that address I did not receive any magazines. I received an order confirmation and agreement and that is all. Since June of 2012, I have been paying for magazines that I have yet to receive. I since then have moved and attempted to change my address on three separate occasions and also the magazine titles.
On several occasions I spoke with a Ashley Oneal through email exchange, regarding the fact that I have still not received any magazines, that I have moved and needed the magazines to come to my new address whenever they would arrive and the fact that I’m finding out that my magazine titles are very limited and not what I had agreed on.
It was very discouraging to keep hearing my magazines “would be there in 8-16 weeks after changing my address.” They never came in the first place, even at my old address?
There is also a big issue with the payments that were automatically withdrawn from my account. As they should have on file, seeing as you handle ALL service to my account, please note that I agreed on 57.50 for 12 months. They are a Canadian magazine company.I live in Canada. Why am I paying US exchange?? The last statement I received through mail at the correct address, so I know they finally have my correct address, was for 57.50, NO US EXCHANGE.
May 24, 2012- I paid $57.50+US
June 24- November 24 2012- I paid $66.13+US
Decemeber 2012- Canceled my subscriptions and explaining why I cancelled and that they no longer had my authorization to withdrawal from my account.
I am not paying for a service I have not received since I signed up in June 2012!! This is one of the most horrible and frustrating ordeals I have been through. I expect to be reimbursed for the full amount that I have paid into thus far.
I have documentation backing my claims and have come across similar complaints about this company.I feel I have been ripped off and scammed. I feel I am fully entitled to get my money back. They say they are a experienced and reputable reading service company. The reputable thing to do would be refunding all of my money.
