Around December 2010, I answered an offer of a free radio along with a year's subscription to Newsmax. They said subscription could be cancelled any time with full refund of the subscription price. The radio came but did not work, nor did a replacement they sent. I then tried to cancel subscription by phone,but couldn't get through. The magazine kept coming and later renewed automatically. This was against my wishes. I couldn't find their charge on my visa bill, either then nor later. This month a Newsmax charge appeared on my Visa and I got through by phone to cancel next year. They won't refund either the original or the second, just-ending subscription fee. The new charge is $39.95; but I do not know what the hidden charges were for the past two years. It probably was somewhere between this latest charge or the $89.00 stated under the masthead.
