I was in the process of opening the internet, when this warning flashed, telling me that I needed to get my computer fixed before it was too late. I clicked on the website which told me that my computer could be cleaned with their software for $29,95. Well, my computer had been running slow, so I thought I should get it cleaned up for the amount stated. However, I found that there was an extra $9.95 in order for the tech to use the software to clean up my computer.
THEN I was told that I had to pay an extra $509.95 for three years or my computer would crash.
WHEN I complained about the apparent scam, three men assured me that I had to pay that amount because I had over 5,000 errors and warnings on my computer. I told them that I had other software that was supposed to take care of virus problems, they said that it was not working.
Since, they already had access to my computer, they went in and deleted my other PC cleaner software. Frankly, I became afraid that if I didn't buy their product, they could easily destroy other files on my computer.
Okay, now that I've lost almost $550.00 to this India-based scam operation, what do I do now?
