Re: Dispute of Unauthorized Charge from BidRack.com

On Friday 4/29/11, I was on a website designed to look like a tv news website touting online penny auctions, specifically bidrack and makes an offer for 25 free bids. I clicked through and it takes you to bidrack.com which features the logos of Time, PC Magazine and Wired amongst others at the top of its page. Once you scroll all the way through, you see the fields to create your account for the site labeled "Hurry to receive a special bonus offer." I registered and the site then takes you to a second page looking remarkably like the first that starts with the headline "You are ALMOST ready to start winning."Scrolling all the way through this page is another field for entering information that is designed to look exactly like the first page, only this one wants your credit card info and address, etc. I know some sites do require financial info on file to participate so I assumed this was normal". I put my info in and finally was brought to the auction site.. The site offered me 25 free bids as indicated which I used to win 10 additional bids cost of .04 cents.I left the site and went to my e-mail where I saw I had received a notice from bidrack|.com that thanked me for my purchases!. I did not realize I had made a purchase only the 10 bid purchase as mentioned for .04 cents. I went to my credit card and saw a temporary authorization of $99 from bidrack". I called Bidrack customer service who explained to me They said well, I did make a purchase of 79 bids upon registering and that they have a strict "NO REFUNDS" policy. I explained that I thought I was just registering for the site, not making a purchase of any sort on a page that said, "You are almost ready..." They said well, I did make a purchase and that they have a strict "NO REFUNDS" policy, which is also nowhere to be found on any of the pages. After talking the rep I put my request in writing and received the following reply as well “NO REFUNDS” I had no way of knowing from their deception to this point that I had made a supposed purchase. Through my research I saw different packages you can purchase. I personally would have picked the cheapest package knowing that I just wanted to use the free trial bids. Bidrack picked a package for me without my knowledge. This is called stealing. Which is Illegal!
I am requesting a full refund of their charge on my account. IF they are a real business. A legitimate business ALWAYS allows a customer to browse before charging them; Bidrack does not give this opportunity to their customers in any way shape or form. Why is it that they keep adding free bids to my account which I have now accumulated 225 bids And they will not give me a refund of the 173 bids I never used. The bids I used was the 25 free original bids they provided me with upon registering and I also used the 10 bids I purchased for .04 cents. So don't let the information they provided you with deceive you. I used the bids I received for free, with the 10 I purchased.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau & my credit card company Capital One but received no help and paid the $99 fee. To date I am still upset and found your website and still want to be reimbursed from Bidrack.com

"MONEY BACK GUARANTEE ON UNUSED BIDS" THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING!

IMAGE 2 & 3 CLEARLY SHOW ON BIDRACK.COM - I NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO PICK A PACKAGE, JUST THE 25 FREE BIDS - COMPANY CHARGED $99 WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
