I ordered a remote control shark toy for my friends 8 yr old son for christmas. their ad specifically stated that it would deliver in time for the holidays. when i had not yet received it by the 20th, i emailed them an inquiry. no response. today, when i still had not received it and obviously will not have it in time to give as a Christmas gift, i sent them another message. i also tried to call them a couple of times but was informed by their voice message that the voice mail box was unable to record any more messages. when i check my account and the STATUS of my order, it states *processing*. i smell a scam. any advice as to how to deal with this? i plan to call the better business bureau and my cc company to see if i can get my funds back. i am mostly disappointed that i did not get this gift for my 8 yr old buddy. i am really annoyed because i could have ordered this through another company but chose dealathons.com because they supposedly give a portion of their sales to BC Childrens Hospital Foundation. Bad to muddy the name of such a great charity. shame on you dealathon.com.

  • wow. do you realize you are in violation of provincial legislation that protects me from my personal information being disclosed by entities like your online business? please remove my address from this public forum. you are not doing much to salvage your reputation here. i did not receive my package and will await a full refund.

  • Yoga Ninja, you decided to post on a public site something against Dealathons. I think we have the right to defend ourselves. I have processed your refund but I do not want you to believe we never shipped the item, we did infact and there is the tracking to show you that it was supposed to be delivered but something must have occurred. Being that these sites are made to warn people of possible scams, I wanted to make sure we provided all the proof so people can see this is not a scam and now you will receive your item for free, because our guarantee fell short and we are sorry for that.

  • this site is actually to warn consumers, not only about scams, but about being mistreated by business and about 'bad business practices' - which you have clearly demonstrated by 1) not returning my emails regarding this matter in a more timely manner (you actually did not respond until AFTER i posted on this site) and 2) disclosing personal customer information on a public domain. i am glad you responded to my posting - what i am offended by is that you have displayed my address - you could've bettered your cause by being more discreet about such details. i will await the details of the refund to appear on my end. thank you www.scambook.com for giving consumers an avenue to stand up for ourselves and inform each other! i hope dealathons.com learned something about how to act more professionally in the future so it doesn't have to come to these means.

  • update: this is an email i recieved from them that directly contradicts their former postings stating they will offer a refund:


    unfortunately no refund can be given once the item is shipped. We can offer you a goodwill $10 credit but nothing more. Furthermore, according to the tracking information you were given, the item was attempted to be delivered twice but both times you were not available. This leads me to further believe of the possibility that this was tried to be delivered on the 24th but you were not available. Either way we cannot do anything further for you. If you would like to send us back the item, we would then credit your account on Dealathons for the cost minus any shipping since that cannot be returned.

    Again, sorry for the inconvenience but sometimes things are beyond our control and things happen. There was a strict no refund policy on these items.

  • i received a notice of delivery attempt on Friday Dec 28th - the notice was incomplete including the date the delivery was attempted. i have asked dealathon.com to provide the documentation to prove that delivery attempts were made and at which dates and times. i received deliveries from both dealfind.com and groupon.com without issue within the past 2 weeks.
    i have asked for a supervisor to contact me as well. bottom line - don't do business with dealathon.com
