Being a sentimental fool I was, I thought I was doing for a good cause when I signed a check for the troop overseas. Two teenagers, (a boy and a girl) got into a friendly conversation with me, and told me they're gaining points for a trip to Rome, Italy.

But even then, the gut feeling told me that something's not right. The sneaky suspicion began when they admitted they've followed a lady to an ATM machine. Another began when they've looked nervous when I asked them to come back later and when they said they don't have a spare brochure I can have.

When I managed to look up that it IS a scam, I called my bank to cancel my checks.

Avoid the same mistakes that I did, and google it up on how to avoid scams.
