I received a phone call from a man claiming to be from the FBI and that I owed money to them and they demanded, very rudely, a check for 641.00. I knew immediately that it was a scam, the FBI does not concern itself with individual debts. He threatened me when I interrupted him trying to decipher what he was talking about in the first place. The man began cursing at me when I refused to cooperate. Please do not be taken by this scam, it is illegal for any debt collection to be accompanied by a threat of police action or action of any kind beyond the scope of debt collection companies. And NO debt collector can threaten legal or police action. ONLY a lawyer or law firm may take those steps.
