After 9 years membership I closed my account with Ancestry.com but they took money out of my bank account for another 12 months membership. I was unable to get a refund as I was overseas for 3 months before I became aware of what was happening and it was too late to fix it. I made sure they did not renew it the following year. After more than 12 months break I renewed membership for 6 months on 19 October 2012. I did click a link to their Archive site, and have had unauthorised monthly payment of $38.95 taken out my bank account by ANC*Archive.com .
My bank asked me to arrange a refund but I got the run around from the person I spoke to at Ancetry.com and I was told Archive.com is a sister company of Ancestry.com and that I could possibly have a duel account which was absolute rubbishand. My bank will follow it up because I am not the only bank customer this had happened to.
