magicJack ripped me of $99.99 for an extra 5 years of service SPECIAL. They cut off my service without notice because I had upgraded my service to magicJack Plus* This so-called company is a post office box somewhere

You see any money prepaid to them only applies to the originally registered device, not at all to any installed upgrades. And their customer service is a joke. A computer chat with boilerplate apologies-refusals to make any refunds, however justified they may be. They have been sued before and lost. They are currently being sued for two hundred million dollars.

The Better Business Bureau gives magicJack a big, fat “F.” The BBB’s summarizes an “F” with: “We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they’ve failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, and the company’s industry is known for is fraudulent business practices.”
