I have had portable and stationary oxygen systems from Open-Aire and since day one they have been the worst company to deal with. From billing errors, to equipment problems. The one thing that gets me the most is they NEVER (and when I say NEVER that is not an exaggeration) answer the phone. You will reach voice mail every time and then on the very rare occasion when they actually call back they will tell you that you dialed incorrectly multiply times. For a company that deals in medical equipment they do a terrible job. I have filed a complaint with the BBB in Florida, I also intend to file a complaint with Medicare as well as my doctors and hospital. I am being evaluated for a lung transplant at one of the biggest and best hospitals in the world and I'm sure they will not be pleased to hear that I am having major issues with my oxygen provider...something I need 24/7/365 to survive. If you find yourself in need of an oxygen provider DO NOT use MRB ACQUISITION/OPEN-AIRE/LINCARE or any other name they try to go by. Recently I had an issue with my stationary unit..I called their 24 HOUR EMERGENCY number and was told someone would call me in the morning to swap out the unit...the next afternoon after more calls and emails they called me back and said a new unit would be sent....6 days and numerous voice mails and emails later I received the replacement. I was to call to let them know I got the unit and they would make arrangements for the old one to be shipped back. When I called I told them I did not receive a shipping label. That was almost a week ago...I have called two or three times daily, sent numerous emails and even posted on their face book wall and I have yet to get a call back...even though two days ago UPS did come to pick the unit up, however since no one told me they were coming I wasn't home. Today UPS came again, the gentleman was amazed that I could not reach anyone at a MEDICAL supply company and agreed to take the unit and print a shipping label out at his office. Today I also filed a complaint with the BBB in Florida...

  • I also have a stationary unit and a portable concentrator from Open-Aire and I aagree 100% with the other poster. Open-Aire is a terrible to company to work with. I had a pulmonary embolism and am being evaluated for a lung transplant. Open-Aire promised by medical team I would get the home portable concentrator the next day. The next nothing came. I called OA and they said the said they didn't have the unit that was ordered. When I did get the unit ordered two days later, it arrived without batteries so could not be used. OA told me on the phone that there was probably a second box with the batteries in it coming from UPS and to just wait.I called UPS and they said there was no second box. Open Aire told me to look in the box again to make sure the batteries weren't in there-they weren't. The OA rep I was dealing with was very rude in my dealings with her. I was lucky to ever get her on the phone because OA rarely answers the phone. If they return a call you are lucky and calls are never returned earlier than three weeks from time of call. Also, they will tell you all sorts of white lies on the phone. Whatever you do, go with a local oxygen company and do not deal with a remote Internet provider like OA. I am now with another company, thankfully. OA was just the worst; truly incompetent, uncaring personnel who will blame you or third parties for their own mistakes--if you are "lucky" enough to reach them. I am very bitter about my expereince with Open-Aire. And getting that lightweight POC they market as the Air-Sept Freestyle is not worth the aggravation of having to deal with OA. I even had problems paying my bill with OA!
